FG APPROVES NEW WAEC AND NECO EXAMINATION FEE: WHAT STUDENTS, PARENTS AND SCHOOLS NEED TO KNOW

The Federal Government has approved a new examination fee structure for students sitting for the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) and the National Examinations Council (NECO) examinations. The new fee arrangement is expected to take effect from 2027 and will introduce a uniform payment system for candidates across the country.

The decision is part of ongoing efforts by education authorities to improve examination administration, strengthen academic standards, and ensure that examination bodies have adequate resources to deliver credible and efficient services.

For many Nigerian students preparing for their final secondary school examinations, the cost of registration has always been a major concern.
