NEPAL FLOOD DISASTER: DEATH TOLL TOPS 500 AS RESCUE OPERATIONS RESUME
Nepal is facing a devastating humanitarian crisis after a catastrophic flash flood struck the Himalayan border region, killing hundreds of people, leaving many others missing and destroying communities and critical infrastructure. The disaster, which began on August 26, has affected areas along the Nepal-China border, including Rasuwa district. Reports published on Friday, August 28, indicate that the death toll across Nepal and neighbouring Tibet has passed 500, while hundreds and, according to some reports, nearly 2,000 people remain missing. More than 93,000 people have reportedly been affected by the disaster.
