ISRAELI AIRSTRIKES INTENSIFY IN BEIRUT AS GROUND FIGHTING ESCALATES IN SOUTHERN LEBANON

The conflict between Israel and Hezbollah has entered a more dangerous phase as heavy airstrikes and ground clashes intensify across Lebanon. Recent developments indicate that the fighting is expanding both in scale and intensity, raising fears of a prolonged regional confrontation.

Israeli forces have carried out a series of powerful airstrikes targeting Hezbollah positions in the southern suburbs of Beirut. These areas are widely known to contain key infrastructure used by the militant group. Prior to the strikes, Israeli authorities issued evacuation warnings urging residents to leave the targeted zones in order to reduce civilian casualties.

Despite these warnings, the impact of the attacks has been severe. Multiple buildings and facilities believed to be linked to Hezbollah operations were struck, leading to significant destruction in parts of the city. Reports from the ground indicate that casualties have risen sharply, with dozens killed and many others injured as emergency responders continue rescue operations in affected neighborhoods.

At the same time, the situation on the ground in southern Lebanon has grown increasingly volatile. Israeli troops have moved deeper into the region, where they are engaging in direct combat with Hezbollah fighters. These encounters have resulted in intense firefights and the use of drones and rockets by both sides.

During one of the clashes, several Israeli soldiers were wounded, including an officer reported to be in serious condition. Hezbollah fighters have continued to launch rockets and drone attacks targeting Israeli military positions and vehicles in response to the advancing troops.

Military analysts say the combination of large-scale airstrikes and expanding ground operations suggests that Israel is attempting to significantly weaken Hezbollah’s military capabilities near the border. However, Hezbollah has demonstrated its ability to retaliate quickly, maintaining pressure on Israeli forces and nearby border areas.

The rapidly evolving situation has heightened concerns among international observers who fear that the conflict could spread further if diplomatic solutions are not urgently pursued. With both sides continuing their operations, the humanitarian situation in affected areas is expected to worsen as civilians remain caught in the crossfire.

As the conflict unfolds, the coming days will likely determine whether the fighting remains contained within the border regions or escalates into a broader regional crisis.

COUNTRIES THAT WERE ONCE PREDOMINANTLY CHRISTIAN BUT ARE NOW MUSLIM-MAJORITY

INTRODUCTION Across the Middle East, North Africa, and parts of Europe and Central Asia, Christianity once flourished centuries before Islam emerged in the 7th century. Many regions that are today Muslim-majority were originally dominated by Christian populations, churches, monasteries, and theological centers that shaped early Christian doctrine. Over time, political change, military conquest, economic systems, social pressure, migration, and historical conflicts transformed the religious demographics of these regions. This article examines countries and regions that were once largely Christian but are now predominantly Muslim, using historical evidence and demographic estimates. EGYPT Egypt was one of the earliest and most influential centers of Christianity. The Church of Alexandria played a foundational role in Christian theology, and monasticism originated in the Egyptian desert. Before the Arab-Muslim conquest in 640 CE, Egypt was overwhelmingly Christian, with the ma...

TRUMP DEPLOYS NATIONAL GUARD TO CHICAGO AMID RISING UNREST

TRUMP DEPLOYS NATIONAL GUARD TO CHICAGO AMID RISING UNREST In a move that has sparked widespread debate across the United States, President Donald Trump has authorized the deployment of 300 National Guard troops to Chicago. The decision, according to the White House, comes in response to a series of violent protests, vandalism, and reported lawlessness that have gripped parts of the city in recent weeks. Administration officials say the deployment is aimed at restoring peace and protecting federal buildings, businesses, and citizens, but critics argue it marks another instance of federal overreach and political showmanship. The announcement was made late Saturday following a high-level security briefing at the White House. In his statement, Trump emphasized that the federal government “would not sit idly by while chaos and violence undermine public safety.” The president pointed to reports of shootings, looting, and clashes between demonstrators and police as justification ...
