SUSPECTED METHANOL POISONING CLAIMS 48 LIVES IN ONDO STATE
DEADLY OUTBREAK LEAVES COMMUNITIES IN SHOCK At least 48 people have died in Ondo State following the consumption of a locally produced alcoholic drink suspected to have been contaminated with methanol. Health authorities said the incident has affected 182 people, with approximately 100 others receiving medical treatment. The affected communities are located in the Odigbo and Irele Local Government Areas of the state, where authorities are working to establish the exact source of the suspected contamination and prevent further deaths.
