RUSSIA LAUNCHES FRESH OVERNIGHT STRIKES ON UKRAINE, TARGETING KEY INFRASTRUCTURE

Russia carried out a new wave of overnight air and drone strikes across Ukraine, intensifying its ongoing military campaign and raising fresh concerns about civilian safety and infrastructure damage.

According to early reports, the attacks primarily targeted southern regions, including critical areas around Odesa. Explosions were heard in multiple locations as air defense systems attempted to intercept incoming threats. Despite these efforts, several strikes hit their intended targets, resulting in casualties and structural damage.

Local authorities confirmed that at least one person was killed, while others sustained injuries. Emergency services were deployed immediately, working through the night to extinguish fires, rescue victims, and assess the extent of the destruction. Key infrastructure, including port facilities and energy-related sites, was reportedly affected, potentially disrupting economic activities in the region.

These renewed attacks highlight a continued focus on weakening Ukraine’s logistical and economic capabilities, particularly in areas vital for trade and supply routes. The southern ports, especially around Odesa, remain strategically important for both domestic stability and international exports.

Ukraine’s military responded by activating its air defense systems and urging residents to remain in shelters during the assaults. Officials continue to call for increased international support, particularly in strengthening air defense capabilities to counter ongoing aerial threats.

As the conflict persists, such strikes underscore the fragile security situation and the ongoing risks faced by civilians. The international community continues to monitor developments closely, amid calls for renewed diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions and bring an end to the conflict.

The announcement was made late Saturday following a high-level security briefing at the White House. In his statement, Trump emphasized that the federal government “would not sit idly by while chaos and violence undermine public safety.” The president pointed to reports of shootings, looting, and clashes between demonstrators and police as justification ...
